OseRoad relies on a unique technology to generate RDE cycles, meeting all the criteria defined by the standard, efficiently and reliably, from any starting point chosen by the user.

context
The “Dieselgate” crisis has pushed the authorities to change the paradigm for evaluating polluting emissions from internal combustion vehicles in order to be approved. Since 2015, with the entry into force of the Euro 6 standard (often called RDE: Real Driving Emissions), vehicles have been tested on very specific cycles on a roller bench. They have been confronted with an assessment of polluting emissions in real traffic conditions. More precisely, pollutants are measured on open roads using portable PEMS (Portable Emission Measurement System) devices.

stakes
This represents a great challenge for car manufacturers who must control the performance of their powertrain on any compatible RDE cycle. These cycles offer a very wide variety of driving situations but they are paradoxically difficult to build in practice because they must respect a list of constraints defined by the standard (proportion of road/city/highway, acceleration, altitude difference, altitude difference, duration and frequency of stops, etc.).

A UNIQUE TOOL FOR GENERATE AND VALIDATE YOUR RDE CYCLES

OSEroad automatically generates RDE cycles and supports manufacturers from simulation to field tests. Do you have a similar project?

approach
OseRoad relies on a unique technology to generate RDE cycles, meeting all the criteria defined by the standard, efficiently and reliably, from any starting point chosen by the user. These cycles consist of both a geographic path and an associated speed profile. Once generated, RDE cycles can easily be exported:
Speed/elevation profiles

For manufacturer simulations

GPX tracks

For PEMS road tests

methodology
OseRoad is an online tool designed to automatically generate reliable and representative RDE cycles, starting from a simple starting point chosen by the user.
It explores the region, analyzes the roads and produces realistic speed profiles, adapted to the needs of car manufacturers and regulatory requirements.
Interface and user experience

OseRoad is presented as a powerful, intuitive and ergonomic online tool. Its interface, inspired by Google Maps, allows you to explore map data interactively and to select the starting point of RDE cycles in one click.
Automatic exploration of the region
minus iconplus icon
From the chosen starting point, OSEroad systematically analyzes the area, explores the road network and generates a list of the most likely compatible RDE cycles.
The number of cycles produced depends in particular on the road layout, the topography and the local density of the roads.
Driver models and speed profiles

Three driving models — eco, normal and sport — cover virtually every road in the selected region.
This approach makes it possible to produce realistic speed profiles, taking into account road events (lights, stops, traffic, etc.) and in accordance with local legislation.
International availability

OseRoad is available in Europe, South Korea and the United States, thanks to its technical architecture and the exploitation of global road data.
Statistical studies and customer uses

OSEroad is a particularly effective tool for carrying out statistical studies on RDE risk coverage (non-certification), analyzing customer uses, and producing speed profiles representative of real conditions. In particular, it was used in the HyMot project.
