Sensor data exploitation plays a key role in the safety and operational efficiency of vessels. To help its clients gain greater operational control, our team developed ODYSS:AI — Decision Support System, an onboard system capable of transforming raw sensor data into navigation recommendations, without adding any infrastructure on board.

context
Modern vessels are equipped with numerous sensors (radar, AIS, GPS, cameras) whose data all too often remains siloed in distinct systems. This fragmentation complicates real-time situational awareness and increases the cognitive workload of mariners, precisely when responsiveness is most critical.

Compounding this is an intensification of operational risks: collisions, piracy, shipping container losses, as well as GPS signal jamming or spoofing. These increasingly documented threats expose shipowners and crews to substantial human, material, and financial consequences.

Our team designed ODYSS:AI — Decision Support System to meet this exact need: a system that aggregates data from existing sensors, cross-references it, and enhances its reliability to eliminate false detections, delivering a consistent situational overview via a centralized interface. The objective is to enable mariners to make informed decisions in any situation, without having to juggle multiple systems.
innovations
ODYSS:AI — Decision Support System is built on a modular architecture, designed to integrate on board without any modification to the existing infrastructure. The innovations implemented cover the entire chain, from environmental perception to maneuvering assistance.
Real-time multi-sensor fusion and mitigation

Data from the radar, cameras, and AIS are continuously fused and cross-referenced. This consistency check makes it possible to detect and discard measurement errors or false detections inherent to each individual sensor, while progressively enriching the understanding of each contact: vessel type, kinematics, and projected trajectory.
Anti-collision system

A dedicated module continuously analyzes collision risks with surrounding vessels, taking COLREG rules into account. When a critical situation is identified, the system triggers an alert and proposes an optimized avoidance trajectory.
Threat detection and acts of piracy

The kinematic behavior of contacts is analyzed to identify suspicious or aggressive approaches. The system distinguishes potential threats among nearby vessels and enables the anticipation of hazardous situations before they become critical.
GPS resilience: anti-spoofing and anti-jamming
minus iconplus icon
The navigation module integrates mechanisms to detect GPS signal anomalies, whether malicious (spoofing, jamming) or accidental. In the event of signal degradation, the system maintains a reliable estimation of the vessel's position.
Anti-roll alert and cargo safety
minus iconplus icon
Sea conditions and vessel trim are continuously monitored to anticipate risks related to excessive rolling, particularly container loss. The system provides early warnings allowing mariners to adapt their route or speed.
Plug-and-play integration, without additional hardware

ODYSS:AI — Decision Support System leverages exclusively the sensors already present on board. Its deployment requires no modification to the existing infrastructure, significantly reducing installation times and costs without prolonged vessel downtime.
SOLUTION

PUTTING DIGITAL INTELLIGENCE AT THE SERVICE OF SAFETY, WITHOUT COMPROMISE AND WITHOUT INFRASTRUCTURE CONSTRAINTS.

ODYSS:AI — Decision Support System thus becomes the reference interface on board: a system that centralizes and enhances the reliability of environmental perception, anticipates risks, and guides mariners' decisions, relying solely on what already exists.

benefits
Thanks to ODYSS:AI — Decision Support System, shipowners and crews have an operational tool that enhances safety on board while limiting adoption constraints. The concrete benefits are as follows:
01

Reduction of operational risks

02

Optimization of operational costs

03

Infrastructure-free deployment

04

Augmented decision-making for mariners

05

Compliance with environmental requirements
